Dr.Schein is a medical oncologist and pharmacologist specializing in the development of anticancer agents and studies of their mechanism of action. He has had a life-long interest in photography, initially in black and white film, and subsequently digital and color. He has won a number of awards for his photographic art. Dr. Philip is currently President of The Schein Group Inc. which provides consultative services to the pharmaceutical industry. Previously he served as a Senior Investigator in the Medicine Branch of the National Cancer Institute, Scientific Director and Chief of Medical Oncology at the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center and Chairman and CEO of US Bioscience, Inc. He was elected President of the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and was appointed to the National Cancer Advisory Board. He served on the American Board of Internal Medicine and chaired the FDA”s Advisory Committee for Oncologic Drugs and Center for the Advancement of Science in Space, the organization that manages the US National Laboratory on the International Space Station. Dr. Schein has served as a Visiting Professor/Adjunct Professor at the University of Oxford, University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine and Brown University.
